Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer Review

When I think of a brand to purchase an affordable lip product, I always think of Rimmel. When they first launched the Apocalips lip lacquers quite a few years ago now, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them, the first I purchased is the bright red shade 'Big Bang'. More recently I purchased a nude shade called 'Nude Eclipse', the first time I applied this shade I wasn't sure if it suited my pale skin or not but it has definitely grown on me. They are available from Boots, here and are currently only £4.99!

I haven't had the nude shade too long so I haven't really tested out it's staying power yet. Big Bang however is my go to red at the moment out of all the lip products I own, after wearing it on nights out it does stay on for a few hours I find by only having to top it up slightly. Whether this is due to the bright shade or the formula I'm yet to find out, and now that they're so cheap I'm thinking of picking up a couple of the pink shades too.

The formula is very different to any 'lip gloss' I've tried before, although I wouldn't call this a lip gloss exactly, it definitely has the gloss effect but it's much thicker and longer lasting. I think these have to be my favourite products by Rimmel by far, I also love the packaging as it looks much more expensive than they are and different to the matte plastic packaging they often use.

Have you tried the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers?
